The secret of the hair quality comes from the strands being bathed in osmosis baths for 15 – 20 days. The black pigments are gently removed from inside the hair, leaving the cuticle in perfect condition. This slow colouring process creates 38 natural shades – from the lightest blond to the darkest black and 15 fashion colours for edgier looks, with no harsh treatments.

How Ruth got long hair with time running out

Ruth is your typical bride to be, with too much stuff buzzing around in her head. Her wedding is three weeks off, and she’s feeling the immense pressure leading up to her big day.

Ruth came to see me in Meanwood with little time to go. The idea of extensions had crossed her mind before, but she’d worried: “They won’t match my hair, they’ll be too much trouble to care for and everyone will be able to tell I’m wearing them.” None of which was true.

At her Free Consultation we chatted about how extensions are joined to her hair. She was taken aback by the natural look and feel of the samples. As she’d grown her hair for 2 years, she picked out a 30cm length of blond.

Ruth came in for her fitting session at Red X Hair the week before her wedding, because it’s good to let the extensions settle. On the wedding day itslef she was booked in to have her hair styled and checked for loose strands (which happens from normal wear)

I started by creating a parting across the back of her head (this is the line where the extensions are added.) Each extension is pre-bonded and attached 1-2 cm from the scalp, about an inch apart. The bond is wrapped around a section of hair, then I use a tool to gently fuse the bond to the hair.

The bonds are close to your own hair colour so, by arranging them under your own hair, the extensions are virtually undetectable. Indeed, the flat bonds are fully concealed.

It took around 4 hours to work all the blond extensions into her hair. Ruth was over the moon by the time we were finished; she ran her fingers through the long thick stretch of blond, and staring back in the mirror was a different woman, set for her dream wedding.
